The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Site Manager to lead the on-site execution of our international engineering projects. This is a challenging, field-based role that requires extensive international travel and a resilient, adaptable mindset.
As INTEQ ENGINEERING's senior representative on-site, you will hold ultimate responsibility for overseeing all construction, installation, and commissioning activities. Your leadership will ensure that our complex, high-value projects are completed safely, to our exacting quality standards, on schedule, and within budget. You will be the primary on-site leader, coordinating multiple contractors and managing all stakeholder relationships to deliver a successful outcome for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the lead technical and managerial authority for INTEQ ENGINEERING on project sites globally.
Oversee and manage all on-site activities, including civil, mechanical, and electrical installation, through to final commissioning.
Ensure all work is executed in strict accordance with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and the project quality plan.
Lead the implementation and enforcement of world-class Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards on-site.
Manage, coordinate, and motivate multiple international contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the client on-site, providing regular, detailed progress reports and managing all site-level communications.
Drive the on-site quality assurance and control (QA/QC) program, including inspections and verification.
Manage the full commissioning and start-up process, leading Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and performance trials.
Proactively identify and resolve on-site issues, mitigating risks to safety, schedule, and budget.
Oversee all site documentation, including the management of as-built drawings and the final project handover package.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Extensive, proven experience as a Site Manager, Construction Manager, or Project Manager on large-scale industrial or heavy engineering projects.
A strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering.
Demonstrable experience managing projects in challenging international locations, with the willingness and ability to travel extensively for extended periods.
In-depth knowledge of construction, installation, and commissioning processes for industrial plants and equipment.
Expertise in on-site Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) management and international safety standards.
Exceptional leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
A high degree of resilience, cultural awareness, and problem-solving ability in complex environments.
Full professional fluency in English.
Desired Skills
Fluency in additional languages is highly advantageous (e.g., Spanish, German, French).
Specific experience in one of our key sectors (Power Generation, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Mining, etc.).
Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CEng) or formal training in Construction Management.
Strong commercial acumen and experience with contract management (e.g., FIDIC).
